Football: Eastside vs Central: The Thanksgiving Tradition
Thanksgiving ProgramThanksgiving ProgramThanksgiving was virtually Hinchliffe's reason for being, and among locals it has remained a large part of its reason for being remembered. The finished stadium's first ever Thanksgiving Day event was a doubleheader on November 24, 1932, an event so iconic that not only do we feature the picture-postcard image of it on this website, but an enlarged version of the image hangs in homes and offices around the city wherever local nostalgia rules the decor!

Thanksgiving ProgramThe day's games featured no less than four home teams: the Central vs Eastside highschool classic first, followed by the Nighthawks and Bears. In a kind of mix and match deja-vu, Central whupped Eastside, 24-0, first, and then the Nighthawks beat the Bears 25-0!
